    Over a period of time these facilities have expanded considerably and attained self-sufficiency. Today they are independent profit centers and equipped with latest machinery / equipment. HJB’s ability to successfully undertake major projects, mobilize in far away locations and sustain logistics is based on its plant & machinery and fleet strength.

    The Company has its own warehousing arrangements for the construction raw material requirements as well as trading inventory. In addition to the existing facilities, in view of the substantial expansions taking place, a new purpose-built complex, envisaged to house inventory, carpentry/joinery, aluminum workshop and vehicle workshop has been added to the existing facilities.

Hasan Juma Backer Trading & Contracting Co LLC today is one of the Leading Civil Electro-Mechanical Construction and Project Management Companies in Oman with an international presence. This growth in three decades from a small villa sector contractor in 1975 has all the hallmarks of setting sights firmly on future and striving hard to achieve pre-eminence.

Since 1975, Hasan Juma Backer Trading & Contracting Co LLC (HJB) is providing Civil, Electro-Mechanical Construction Services to a wide spectrum of clients including Diwan of Royal Court, Ministries, Royal Oman Police and important establishments in Public and Private Sectors. The Company is also registered with PDO.

The civil electro-mechanical construction experience spectrum encompasses landmark buildings in Muscat (like HQ buildings of RGO, OmanGas, Oman LNG, State General Reserve Fund, College of Banking & Finance etc), Hospitals (Wadi Heibi, 100 bed extension to Jalan Bani Bu Ali Hospital), University Colleges and Schools (Rustaq, Ibra, Several Buildings in SQU & Many MOE Schools), major infrastructure works including Industrial Estates (Sohar, Raysut, Russayl, Sur), Roads (Yeti-Shifah, Maintenance of approx 4500 KMs of graded roads etc), Water Works (Water supply to Muscat Governorate, Busher, Barkha, Ash’Sharqiah Sands, Al Massarat, Al Khod, Ibra etc) and Waste Water Management (STPs - Nizwa, Samail, Rustaq, Masirah).

The company has gone international by taking up a major project in the Water Sector in the State of Qatar after successfully completing a techno-commercial evaluation on its own strength against International Companies.

  • Plant Manager

    A degree in mechanical engineering with at least 10 to 15 years’ experience in automobile industry, having thorough knowledge in maintaining light/heavy vehicles, plant/heavy earthmoving equipment, should be well versed in repairs and maintenance of Automatic Batching Plant / Asphalt Plant and Block Plant. Gulf experience is a must. Holding Valid GCC/Omani Licence is a must. Age Limit: 45 years

  • Engineer Plant & Machinery

    A degree in mechanical engineering with at least 5 to 10 years’ experience in infrastructure projects, construction industry, preferably in Gulf, having thorough knowledge in maintaining light/heavy vehicles, plant/heavy earthmoving equipment, should be well versed in repairs and maintenance of Automatic Batching Plant / Asphalt Plant and Block Plant. Valid GCC/Omani Licence will be an added advantage. Age Limit: 45 years.

  • Material Manager

    B.E (civil) with 5+ years in performing tests and corresponding analysis on sample products of soil, fresh concrete and aggregates for slump, temperature, density, air content, specific gravity absorption, moisture, sieve, and chemical properties including field sampling and ndt. Writing and reviewing technical reports. Managing relationships with clients. Training site technicians. Familiarity with IS / BS specifications. Valid GCC/Omani Licence will be an added advantage. Age Limit: 45 years.

  • Project Engineer - Civil

    Should be Civil Engineering degree holder with minimum 5-10 years Gulf experience with Multi-national construction companies. Candidates having experience in Residential-Commercial Buildings/Hospitals projects shall be preferred. Proficiency in liaison with Clients, Consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers, material planning, capability to control. Valid GCC/Oman Licence will be an added advantage. Age limit: 45 years.

  • Project Engineer - Road/Infrastructure

    A dynamic, result oriented, having Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 5 - 10 years’ experience, out of which 3 years in the Middle East in large scale construction companies, in building services. Age limit: 45 years

  • Plant Foreman

    With 5 to 10 years’ experience in heavy earth moving/automobiles and having thorough knowledge in heavy plant and machineries. Age Limit: 40 years

  • Batching Plant Operator (Immediate Requirement)

    The desired candidate should have knowledge of Operating and maintaining ELBA Batching Plants with capacity of 1 m3/hr to 2.2.m3, and daily procedures of the Batching Plant. Operation of the plant both in auto and manual mode. Experience in Ice Plant/Chiller will be an added advantage. Gulf Experience desirable.

  • Contracts Manager

    A degree in Civil engineering with minimum 10 to 15 years experience working with international companies or any large scale companies in contracting. Must have minimum 5 - 7 years gulf experience, should have through knowledge of FIDIC, Extension of Contracts, Arbitration / Claims etc. with all local by-laws, rules and regulations. Able to lead a team of Engineers as a Team-man with great ambition to grow with the company. Valid GCC/Omani License will be an added advantage. Age Limit: 45 Years.

  • General Manager(Qatar)

    Degree in Civil Engineering having minimum 15-20 years experience with 7 to 10 years n Gulf Countries in any large scale companies. Capable to handle projects independently material proposals, monitoring progress & profitability, planning, execution and to lead team of Engineers and liaise with Client & Consultants. He will be responsible for techno-commercial operation of the organization. Should have sound knowledge of site management and capable of heading project team for successfully delivering the projects from tendering to handing over stage. Have valid GCC driving license. Age Limit: 50 years.

  • QA/QC Engineer (Civil) - Site (Immediate Requirement)

    Good knowledge of QA/QC procedures, method statements for Civil / Building Construction sites. Preparation of check lists, pour card and obtaining certification by client / consultant. Prepare & Maintain other docs for QC at site. Good communication skills. 5-7 years of GCC experience preferable. Bachelors in Civil. Immediate Joining.

  • AGM – Infra (Roads)

    Dynamic, result oriented, holding a degree in Civil Engineering with at least 15 to 20 years professional experience, out of which 5 years in similar position in Gulf with Multi-national Construction Companies, capable to lead a team of Engineers and handle projects & departments independently. Should have sound knowledge of site management and capable of heading project team for successfully delivering the projects from tendering to handing over stage. He should be having sound commercial knowledge with excellent interpersonal communication skills and capable to liaise with Client / Consultants independently. Holding a valid Oman / GCC light driving license will be an added advantage.

  • Asst. General Manager - Readymix Concrete

    The candidate should be Mechanical / Civil Engineer, having 10 to 15 years (5-7 years in Gulf) working experience in similar position, especially in the Gulf, capable in handling multiple batching plants, ensuring trouble free running & maintenance of plants and to lead marketing & production team. Must be fully conversant with all commercial & technical matters related to concrete product business and to run the division as an independent profit center. Holding valid Oman/GCC driving license will be an added advantage.

  • Project Manager – Building Construction

    Civil Engineer with 15 years progressively responsible experience in construction of vertical (high-rise) or horizontal (low-rise) commercial and residential structures. Sound understanding of construction terms, scheduling and planning concepts. Valid GCC/Oman Licence will be an added advantage. Age Limit: 45 Years.

  • Project Coordinator: Civil/Road/Infrastructure/Electrical/Mechanical

    Candidates having Engineering Degree with 10 + years experience with minimum 5 years gulf experience, in multi-project coordination, engagement with stake holders particularly Vendors, Consultants and Contractors. Work in concert with the project management teams in all aspects of project coordination with minimal supervision. Valid GCC/Oman Licence will be an added advantage. Age Limit: 45 years

  • Construction Manager: Building/Roads/Pipelines

    Degree qualified in Engineering Discipline. Minimum 10 + years experience with reputable contractors in project management with at least 2 full lifecycle projects in sewerage network construction from conception through to handover. Valid GCC/Oman Licence will be an added advantage. Age Limit: 45 Years.

  • Safety Manager

    The incumbent should have minimum 10 years experience in the field, out of which, preferably at least 5 years should be in oilfield related operations [preferably with contractors working with PDO/ARAMCO/ADNOC/QP etc]. He should be able to independently set up the department and provide leadership. Ability to interact with clients is prerequisite. Holding a valid Oman / GCC light driving license will be an added advantage. Age: 45 years

  • Safety Engineer

    The incumbent should have minimum 7 - 10 years experience in the field, out of which at least 3 - 5 years should be in oilfield related operations [preferably with contractors working with PDO/ARAMCO/ADNOC/QP etc]. Ability to interact with clients is prerequisite. Holding a valid Oman / GCC light driving license will be an added advantage. Age: 45 years

  • Material Engineer

    The incumbent should have Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 5 - 7 years experience in the field, out of which at least 3 - 5 years’ Gulf experience in testing of construction materials. He should be capable of handling field laboratory, conducting tests on soil, concrete and asphalt. Holding a valid Oman / GCC light driving license will be an added advantage. Age: 45 years

  • Engineer Plant & Machinery

  • QA/QC Engineer

    A degree in Bachelor of Engineering [Any discipline] with 5 to 10 years experience in the similar position in Gulf. Should have extensive experience in QA/QC works related to various Projects including water pump stations and electrical substations. Age limit 45 years.

  • Quantity Surveyor

    The ideal candidates should be a Dynamic, result oriented, having a Degree in Engineering with 5 to 10 years experience in construction sector working in a computerized environment, out of which at-least 5 years in Gulf environment with Excellent Grade Companies. At least 3-5 yrs demonstrable commercial experience in post-tendering / negotiations of contract variations, claims and project final accounts. Age limit: 40 years.

  • Land Surveyor

    Having basic technical qualification and experience of working with modern surveying instruments. Minimum 5 years, experience of working on infrastructure projects.

  • Foreman : Civil

    Preferably a Diploma holder in Civil Engineering with at least 5 years gulf experience is a must. Should be thorough with all most modern techniques in building constructions. Capable of handling work force and able to achieve target oriented work.

  • Foreman : Steel

    Preferably a Diploma holder in Civil Engineering with at least 5 years gulf experience is a must. Should be thorough with all most modern techniques in Constructions. Should be capable of preparing bar bending schedules.

  • Foreman – Shuttering

    Preferably a Diploma holder in Engineering with at least 5 years gulf experience is a must. Should be thorough with all most modern techniques in Constructions. Having experience of building/infrastructure projects.

  • Store Keeper / Time Keeper

    Candidate should have minimum 3-5 years experience in handling site Stores, should be conversant with handling with petty cash, maintaining site inventory, having knowledge of time keeping. Should be a computer literate.

  • Camp Boss

    Candidates having minimum experience of 3-5 years in the same field with large scale Construction Companies.
